The Russian President spoke Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Vladimir Putin spoke about the situation in the world.
The Russian leader noted that the influence of international institutions is weakening today, and the number of regional conflicts is growing steadily. According to him, the global security system has ceased to function normally.
The President recalled that in the 20th century, similar problems led to World War II. The head of the country expressed hope that today such a global conflict is impossible. “Otherwise, it would mean the end of civilization,” Putin said.
The Russian leader also commented on the relations between Europe and Russia at the forum. The president called the current situation “abnormal” and called on his colleagues to return to a positive agenda.
Putin stressed that they are united by a common culture. Major political figures of the past spoke more than once about the development of relations between Europe and Russia and insisted on creating a single space, RIA Novosti reports.
The president spoke about Russia’s internal priorities. Putin noted that the main tasks of the state include demographic development and the preservation of the people, improving the well-being of people, and protecting their health.
“Our priorities are built around a person, his family,” the head of the country said.
