Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud. As reported on the Kremlin’s website, the conversation took place at the initiative of the Saudi side.
Putin and Al Saud talked about the implementation of the agreements in the OPEC + format, and also discussed the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, including the possibility of using Russian vaccines in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the parties expressed mutual interest in building up cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres.
Recall that on February 8, the price of Brent crude oil rose above $ 60 per barrel for the first time since January 29 last year. Experts attribute the positive growth trend to a recovery in market demand driven by the wider spread of coronavirus vaccines around the world.
In addition, since February, the agreements of the OPEC + group entered into force, according to which some countries will additionally reduce production by about 1.425 million barrels of oil per day, of which one million falls on Saudi Arabia.
