Putin signs law to suspend indexation of judges’ salaries in 2021

The head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed a federal law (FZ), which will suspend the indexation of judges’ salaries in 2021. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information. The initiative was proposed by the RF Cabinet.

The explanatory note to the bill said that according to the decision of the leader, adopted at the end of the meeting on the federal budget for 2021-2023, in 2021 it is planned to index the salaries of the military and persons equated to them. It was not planned to index the official salaries of judges in 2021, it says in the text.

Consequently, the provisions of the law of the Russian Federation regarding the annual increase (indexation) of official salaries of judges are subject to suspension, – sends the portal.

In addition, Putin signed a federal law toughening the rules for the media during public actions, prohibiting rallies and pickets near emergency buildings and providing an opportunity to postpone public actions due to the threat of emergency or terrorism. In addition, the three-day period for consideration of a notice of a public event has been extended if the third day falls on a non-working (holiday) day.

The leader also signed a law on state regulation of prices for socially significant goods and a federal law on countering censorship against Russian media on foreign Internet platforms. Earlier, the head of state approved a law on calling any emergency services by calling 112. Now this system operates in 56 regions of the country. Now it will be extended to the entire Russian Federation. The document was published on December 30, 2020 on the official portal of legal information. It will enter into force on January 1, 2022.

Earlier reported that Putin signed a law obliging residents of Russia from July 1, 2021 to inform the Federal Tax Service (FTS) about large transfers through foreign electronic wallets. The corresponding document is published on the official portal of legal information.
