Vladimir Putin signed a law on multi-day voting in elections at all levels, the document was published on the Internet portal of legal information.
The initiative was supported by the State Duma and the Federation Council. As noted by RIA Novosti, now this format of multi-day voting will apply not only to local, but also to the Duma elections.
By decision of the election commission organizing elections, referendums, elections can be held for several days in a row, but no more than three.
In addition, early voting and voting by absentee ballots will not be organized in the event of an election or referendum in the country within a few days.
CEC Chairperson Ella Pamfilova previously announced the dates of the three-day voting in 2020.
