Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that specifies the directions of the work of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights.
The document published on the official Internet portal of legal information, in particular, specifies that the HRC will protect the rights of Russians abroad.
The wording of one of the main tasks of the Council is now spelled out as follows: “preparation of proposals to the President of the Russian Federation on creating favorable conditions for the development of civil society institutions and expanding citizen participation in the development of such institutions.”
The main activities of the HRC are to promote the development of civil society institutions, to ensure and protect personal, political, economic and labor, social and cultural, environmental rights and freedoms of man and citizen.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Digital Science and the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) to consider proposals to improve the distance education system by August 1, including the initiative to create “parent universities”.
