Putin: Russian Helicopters holding has shown its capacity

On November 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the general director of the Russian Helicopters holding, Andrei Boginsky, the Kremlin’s official website reports.

The head of the country proposed to discuss the further development of the company.

“The holding has turned out to be capable and large,” the president said opening the meeting in the Kremlin. “Let’s talk about how he feels and what the prospects are.”

Putin called helicopter manufacturing an industry that Russia has always been rightfully proud of. He noted that eight thousand Russian helicopters are currently in operation in 100 countries of the world.

In turn, Boginsky said that the helicopters supplied by the holding to the Ministry of Defense fully satisfy the customer’s needs. At the same time, the company intends to produce and deliver over 1,100 helicopters by 2025, more than half of the equipment will be civilian.

The capacities of the enterprises of the holding, which employs more than 38 thousand employees, allow the production of about 360 cars annually, the general director noted.

In June of this year, Russia and China signed a contract for the creation of a joint heavy helicopter, Boginsky also said.

According to the head of the holding, the Russian side will develop individual units: transmission, tail rotor and anti-icing system. The creation of the aircraft will take about 13 years, he stated.

Earlier it was also reported that Russia will present a prototype of the new Russian fifth-generation single-engine fighter Checkmate at the Dubai Airshow. In the future, the new aircraft will be assembled in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
