Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Russian Foreign Ministry to maintain the tense state of the Western countries after serious warnings from Russia. The head of state believes that this will help avoid conflicts, TASS reports.
According to Putin, the warnings have some effect in the West. The President notes that the state of tension will not allow these countries to arrange “any unnecessary” conflict on the borders with the Russian Federation.
The head of state appealed to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a request to achieve the provision of long-term guarantees for ensuring the security of the Russian Federation in this direction, since Russia cannot constantly think about “what may happen there tomorrow.”
“It is understandable, and I see, despite the fact that many people wear masks, nevertheless, you can see from the eyes that skeptical smiles arise about whether it is possible to count on and hope for the seriousness of possible agreements in this area, bearing in mind, that we are still dealing with, to put it mildly, not very reliable partners: they easily reject any previous agreements, “the head of state concluded.
Earlier, Sergei Lavrov announced the accumulation of conflict potential in relations between Russia and the European Union. According to him, this is due to the reluctance of European countries to conduct business on an equal and mutually beneficial basis.
