Vladimir Putin said that the strategic bombers of NATO countries are crossing the “red lines”, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the president, this means that the alliance’s planes are flying at a distance of 20 kilometers from the Russian borders.
NATO has broken all the mechanisms of dialogue and is showing a markedly confrontational attitude towards Russia, Putin also said.
“We will react to actions at the borders,” the politician promised.
At the same time, the Russian leader noted that the alliance “is already giving signals of a desire to cooperate, although not long ago it sent Russian diplomats out of the blue,” writes TASS.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called the US military exercises in the Black Sea a provocation. The department said that these actions seriously increase the risk of escalation.
The expert also called the surprise NATO exercises in the Black Sea a PR, noting that the alliance’s intelligence services switched to tracking the activities of the Russian fleet.
