Putin met with State Duma deputies of the VIII convocation

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with State Duma deputies of the VIII convocation. He began his speech with congratulations on the beginning of the work of the lower house of parliament, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of state expressed the hope that the deputies of the new convocation will confirm their credit of confidence with their daily work. He added that thanks to the support of voters, the deputies received their mandates.

“I am sure all of you are united by the desire to work in the interests of Russia, for the sake of its further successful development, for the sake of strengthening our traditional values, which are outlined in the updated Constitution. Of course, for the sake of improving the well-being and quality of life of people. <...> I hope that you will confirm this high credit of confidence with your daily hard, productive work, ”Putin said.

The president also noted that among the deputies there are a lot of those who have not worked in the State Duma for the first time. He considers this an important moment for legislative activity and the continuity of the best parliamentary traditions. However, Putin noted that the appearance in the lower house of 218 new deputies and the New People faction means the development of the political system of the Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma adopted a resolution on the creation of 32 committees and three standing commissions. The structure of the committees will be as close as possible to the structure of federal executive bodies.
