The President of Russia emphasized the importance of Kiev’s implementation of previously reached agreements
On the evening of Tuesday, March 30, the President of the Russian Federation held talks Vladimir Putin with the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and with the President of France Emmanuel Macron… The talks were held in the format of a video conference.
The parties discussed the need to join forces in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, recognizing the pandemic as a common threat. In this connection, the prospects of registration of the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” in the European Union, future supplies of this vaccine to the EU and the possibility of its joint production in the countries of the European Union were considered. The leaders of Russia, Germany and France also stressed the need to take urgent measures to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
We will remind that earlier the President of Russia at a meeting with the participants of the all-Russian action of mutual assistance “We are Together” emphasized that only by combining the efforts of all countries, “You can achieve the desired result all over the world, but the result is needed exactly global”…
The aggravation of the situation in Ukraine was also discussed at the meeting, while the parties confirmed that the Minsk agreements of 2015 have no alternative, this document should become the basis for the settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict.
“The President of Russia stressed the importance of the Kiev authorities fulfilling all the agreements previously reached at the highest level, primarily on establishing a direct dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk and settling the legal aspects of the special status of Donbass. The Russian side expressed serious concern over the escalation of the armed confrontation on the contact line provoked by Ukraine and the actual refusal to implement the “Additional measures to strengthen the ceasefire regime” agreed in July 2020 in the Contact Group,
– the press service of the Kremlin reports.
It was noted that the political advisers of the leaders of the Normandy Four countries will continue to work together to resolve the situation in the East of Ukraine.
We discussed the sides and the situation in Belarus, while Vladimir Putin noted “Inadmissibility of external interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.”
Another topic of the talks was the situation in Syria, Libya and Iran, the Kremlin press service notes. The parties noted that the situation in Syria continues to stabilize and the issues of humanitarian assistance to the population of this country came to the fore. Compliance with the cessation of hostilities continues in Libya and it is hoped that the transitional authorities will become the beginning of the final settlement of the situation in this country. As for Iran, the leaders of the three countries once again supported the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program.
Discussing relations between Russia and the European Union, Vladimir Putin confirmed the readiness of the Russian Federation to restore normal relations with the EU, but this requires the mutual interest of Brussels.
“In connection with the question raised by the partners about A. Navalny, appropriate explanations of the objective circumstances of the case were given. In general, the negotiations were held in a businesslike and frank atmosphere, it was agreed to continue joint work on the entire topical agenda, “
– states the press service.
Kiev painfully perceived the fact that the leaders of Russia, Germany and France discussed the situation in Donbass without the presence of Ukraine.
“We clearly adhere to the position that no decisions about Ukraine can be made without Ukraine. Leaders of other countries can express their positions on the situation in a particular region or in a particular country. The president’s office believes that it would be strange if the war in Donbass fell out of the international agenda, especially in negotiations where the Russian side is taking part, ”
– said the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky Yulia Mendel…
And the Ukrainian media are vying with each other to “calm down” – in fact, according to their version, both Germany and France “demanded the end of the war” and nothing more.
