Russian President Vladimir Putin called Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and invited him to visit St. Petersburg with his wife, TASS reports with reference to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
It is clarified that Bennett accepted the invitation. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Jewish state noted that he would be glad to pay one more visit to Russia.

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of relations between the two countries, the fight against terrorism in Syria, the situation in Afghanistan and Iran, as well as trade between the states. The meeting lasted five hours.
Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov later said that Putin and Bennett had a long and constructive dialogue. The office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Jewish state, in turn, called the meeting warm and positive.
Bennett’s visit was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the countries.
