Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification an agreement between Russia and Tajikistan on the creation of a joint air defense system. The document was published in the electronic database of the lower house of parliament.
The agreement states that the parties will create a unified regional air defense system, which is an integral part of the unified air defense system of the CIS member states. It is noted that this is done in order to increase the efficiency of solving air defense problems in the region.
Recall that the countries signed the agreement on April 27. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that the creation of a unified air defense system would increase the reliability of protecting the state border in the air.
