Putin instructed to prepare a plan for the implementation of the transport strategy of the Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to develop a detailed plan for the implementation of the transport strategy of the Russian Federation until 2030 with a forecast until 2035. The report must be submitted no later than the first quarter of 2022, TASS reports.

The head of state noted that the proposals should be aimed at developing the regional economy and improving the quality of life of Russians.

The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev, in turn, stressed that the mobility of the population due to the new strategy should increase by at least 80%. This indicator will be achieved in the case of road construction, development of aviation and suburban transportation.

Saveliev also noted that within the framework of the transport strategy, the number of trips by private cars should be reduced in favor of public transport.

According to him, the cumulative effect from the implementation of the strategy will exceed 90 trillion rubles by 2035, and by 2050 this figure will increase to 180 trillion rubles. To do this, it is necessary to increase investment in transport from 2.3% of GDP to 3.1%.

Also, as part of the transport strategy, shipping documents should become fully electronic by 2035. During the same period, the number of passengers using biometrics in suburban, intercity and international transport should grow to 80%. This will speed up the process of passing control procedures.

Earlier it was reported that the Moscow City Duma approved a project of free travel in public transport for large parents and their minor children.
