Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the talks, local leaders discussed the situation in Donbass and Belarus, the Kremlin press service said.
It is noted that the Russian president has formulated concern about the escalation of the armed confrontation in the Donbass, which is provoked by Ukraine. Putin noted that, in fact, Kiev refused to implement measures to strengthen the order to end the heat. Along with that, the parties previously confirmed that there is no alternative to the 2015 Minsk agreements. In this regard, Putin believes, Kiev must abide by the agreements it had previously won, above all, on establishing a direct dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk and settling the legal aspects of the special status of Donbass.
During the discussion of the situation in Belarus, the Russian president showed Merkel and Macron to “the inadmissibility of external interference in the internal devastation of a sovereign state.”
