Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with permanent members of the Russian Security Council issues of dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States on the issue of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), TASS reports.
As the press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov said, they also discussed the topic of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
There was also a conversation on current issues on the domestic Russian agenda.
Earlier it was reported that Putin proposed to extend the existing Treaty on the reduction of offensive arms without any conditions for at least a year. As the president explained, this is necessary in order not to leave the countries interested in maintaining strategic stability without such a fundamental document.
