Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Republic Day.
Republic Day is a national holiday in India. The country marks the entry into force of the Constitution on January 26, 1950 and the transition from British dominion to republic status. It is one of the three national holidays in India, apart from Independence Day and Gandhi’s Birthday.
Putin’s telegram, posted on the Kremlin’s website, states that Russia values its privileged strategic partnership with India.
The Russian leader expressed confidence that further building up of constructive ties between Moscow and New Delhi meets the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
Vladimir Putin also noted India’s successes in the economic, scientific, technical and social spheres and its role in addressing important issues on the regional and global agenda.
