Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Russian diplomats to the state award for their great contribution to the implementation of Russia’s foreign policy. The corresponding decree was published on March 29 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Sergei Trepelkov, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in the United States, was awarded the Order of Friendship for his great contribution to the implementation of the Russian foreign policy course and many years of conscientious diplomatic service.
Ambassador of Russia to Mauritania Boris Zhilko and Deputy Director of the Department of North America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Konstantin Serednyakov were awarded the Medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 1st Class.
The Russian leader also awarded Sergei Berdnikov, Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, with a medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree.
On January 17, Putin awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky to Soviet and Uzbek diplomat, ex-USSR ambassador to Sri Lanka, Rafik Nishanov. The diplomats were awarded for great services to the state and many years of conscientious work.
