Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated Christmas at the Church of the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands, which is located on the territory of his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
According to RIA Novosti, Putin entered the service in a suit with a light-colored shirt, but without a tie. It is noted that the head of state lit candles in front of the icon of the Nativity of Christ.
On January 5, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Vladimir Putin will attend a Christmas service in one of the Russian churches.
Let’s remind, usually Putin celebrates Christmas outside the capital. So, last year he attended a Christmas service in the Church of St. Nicholas on Lipno near Veliky Novgorod.
Earlier, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill congratulated the Orthodox on Christmas.
