Russian President Vladimir Putin called the normalization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh an urgent and acute problem, reports RIA Novosti, referring to the statement by the Russian president at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In turn, Pashinyan noted that the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh is becoming an important factor in stability and security in the region.
“In this vein, I hope today to discuss with you your views on the architecture of the security system in our region, in Nagorno-Karabakh, around it,” the head of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers said.
Let us remind you that today in Moscow there is a meeting between Putin and Pashinyan, dedicated to the development of strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Armenia.
Earlier press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that during these negotiations such topics as integration processes and the implementation of joint trilateral statements on Karabakh, including the restoration of economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus, could be touched upon.
