On Wednesday, at a meeting with the Russian president, one of the leaders of Uralchem, Mazepin, took the initiative to apply to international organizations of the UN and the African Union to resolve the issue of sending cargoes with fertilizers from the ports of the European Union states, which are not exported from there under various pretexts.

“I would like to raise a question and get your approval so that we start the whole initiative from the very beginning, so that we turn to the UN and the African Union to unblock all 260,000 tons for us under the auspices of the UN. In agreement with the President of the African Union, they will represent countries that are experiencing difficulties with the supply of fertilizers, and we are ready to make these deals for free,” Mazepin said.

Putin agreed with this proposal and said that government agencies would receive the appropriate order. The President stressed that this issue should be resolved. He also said that the political leaders of African states periodically contact him and say that they do not understand why fertilizers from European ports are not sent to their countries.
