Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the head of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool, reported on the Kremlin website.
The presidential decree notes that Kara-ool resigned at his own request.
Before the new head of the republic takes office, Vladislav Khovalyg will act as the head of the region.
We will remind, earlier Putin appointed Acting Governor of the Penza Region, Oleg Melnichenko, who had previously served as a senator from the region. The former head of the region, Ivan Belozertsev, became a defendant in a criminal case and was removed from his post due to the loss of the president’s confidence. Early elections for the governor will be held on a single voting day in September 2021.
