Psaki: the United States will offer Russia to extend START-3 for five years

The United States intends to offer the Russian side to extend the START-3 treaty for five years, RIA Novosti reports.

This was stated during the briefing by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki.

She noted that this agreement is in the interests of US national security and is even more important at a time when “relations with Russia are in such a serious confrontation.”

Psaki also called the START-3 Treaty “an anchor of strategic stability” between the two countries.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the hope that under Joe Biden, Russia and the United States would be able to agree on arms limitation within the framework of this agreement.
