White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States leader Joe Biden could take place “at some point in the future,” TASS reports.
“I do not rule out that the US president will talk with the Russian president at a certain point in the future,” she said during the briefing and recalled that after the summit held this summer, the parties agreed to continue contacts and interaction at a high level.
It is noted that the statement was made in response to a relevant question from journalists. Psaki added that the White House is not yet ready to announce new contacts at the highest level in one format or another.
Earlier, the media reported about a possible personal meeting between Putin and Biden early next year. In addition, it was possible that this year the leaders of the two countries will hold talks online. The last meeting of politicians took place in Geneva on June 16.
On the eve of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Putin and Biden will discuss the situation in Ukraine and relations with NATO at an online meeting.
