Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences told whether a runny nose is a sign of COVID-19

Typically, a runny nose is not the main symptom of coronavirus. However, its presence does not mean that a person definitely does not have a coronavirus infection.

This was stated by Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Viktor Fomin on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.

He noted that the closer signs for COVID-19 are loss of smell and taste.

They are less common for other respiratory viral infections, Fomin said.

Earlier, Japanese doctor Koichi Hirahata said that the mild form of coronavirus is not so harmless.

According to him, more than a third of patients who showed the consequences of COVID-19 became bedridden. Moreover, the infection had the greatest impact on people under the age of 40-50 years.
