President of Kyrgyzstan discussed the situation in Kazakhstan with Putin and Tokayev

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov discussed the current situation in Kazakhstan with the Kazakh president, as well as with the heads of Russia and Armenia, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the head of the Kyrgyz state.

Japarov held a number of telephone conversations with the leaders of the CSTO member countries – Vladimir Putin, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Nikol Pashinyan. The head of Kyrgyzstan expressed concern over information about human casualties, numerous pogroms and facts of violence in the neighboring republic.

Earlier it was reported that in the Republic Square in Alma-Ata, the military in armored personnel carriers and armored vehicles took the protesters into the ring. In the center of the city, about 200 instigators of the riots gathered, some of them armed. An exchange of fire broke out between the military and armed men.

Against the backdrop of protests, the President of the Republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, turned to CSTO partners for help. The CSTO Council later announced its decision to send the Collective Peacekeeping Forces to Kazakhstan.
