The wife of the former Ukrainian President Marina Poroshenko will head the list of Petro Poroshenko's European Solidarity party in the elections to the Kiev city council.
As reported on the website of the political force, this decision was made at a conference of the Kiev city party organization.
During the congress, Marina Poroshenko herself spoke about bringing state building codes to the standards of European capitals. According to the wife of the ex-president, her decision to run for the Kiev City Council is not least due to the fact that all new norms are being implemented.
Poroshenko also outlined plans for her work in the Kyiv City Council. Thus, she intends to turn Kiev into "a real European capital with affordable transport and infrastructure, with modern educational, cultural and medical institutions", into a comfortable city for life.
Marina Poroshenko is a cardiologist by education, she is a candidate of medical sciences. For many years, Poroshenko has been involved in the humanitarian sphere and the development of inclusive education.
The Verkhovna Rada earlier scheduled the next local elections for October 25. At the same time, they will not take place on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions not controlled by Kiev.
