Popova spoke about the test system for determining mutations of coronavirus

Russian experts have developed a new test system that can distinguish a common coronavirus from a virus with mutations. Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova told about this on the First Channel.

The head of the department clarified that the developers of the test system were employees of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. She is now preparing for registration.

“This is a common PCR diagnostic system. It will take not four hours in the laboratory, but about 40 minutes, no more, ”Popova explained.

Earlier it was reported that the “British” strain of coronavirus found already in 33 European countries out of 43, and the “South African” variant of the virus – in 16.

Recall that in the Russian Federation over the past day recorded 19,138 new cases of COVID-19.

It was noted that mutations of the coronavirus from South Africa and Japan in the country not found.
