Compliance with safety measures and vaccination against COVID-19 during the declared holidays will allow you to spend the New Year as usual. This statement was made by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.
“This is how we now carefully and neatly spend these non-working days, so we can prepare for the New Year holidays, to already celebrate, as we are used to,” she said.
According to Popova, there is no need to close the Russian borders against the background of a worsening epidemiological situation today, since the main spread of the virus occurs within the country.
It is clarified that only 1% of PCR tests for coronavirus among those who come or return to Russia from abroad are positive.
The head of the department also spoke about the reasons for the new wave of coronavirus infection.
“Complete disregard for the presence of the virus in the population led to the fact that by the beginning of the season, by September, we came up with high figures for the overall incidence in the country,” the specialist explained.
In addition, in the fall, as the sanitary doctor added, ARVI began to spread more actively, and COVID joined it.
Meanwhile, Russian leader Vladimir Putin instructed Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and his deputies to travel to regions where the most critical situation is now due to coronavirus to help doctors.
