The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova told how long a person who has had a coronavirus can excrete the virus, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Popova, studies by Russian doctors show that patients who have had COVID-19 can be contagious within 48 days. At the same time, according to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, data from foreign doctors indicate that the virus can be secreted from a person's nose for up to 90 days, despite the fact that the patient has no symptoms and has good blood tests.
In Russia, over the past day, 5,529 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected, 150 people died, 5,605 patients were discharged from hospitals.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Russian Federation, 1,073,849 people have fallen ill with coronavirus, 18,785 have died, more than 884,000 have recovered.
The number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the world has exceeded 29 million. According to the WHO, in the world over the past day, about 308 thousand people received positive tests for coronavirus - this is a record increase. Also, the World Health Organization predicts an increase in the number of deaths due to coronavirus in Europe in the fall.
