It would be illogical for the Russian diplomat to say anything at a recent meeting of the UN Security Council (SC) Permanent Representatives with US President Joe Biden, taking into account the recent events, Dmitry Polyansky, the initial deputy ambassador of Russia to the UN, said at a briefing.
Formerly President of the United States Joe Biden paved the virtual meeting with continuous representatives of the localities of the UN Security Council. The deputy representative of the Russian Federation, Anna Evstigneeva, took part. Russia was a single locality, from which not an uninterrupted representative participated, in addition, Evstigneeva, unlike her colleagues, did not charge a word.
The initial Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky drove the absence of Nebenzi.
“Well, you know, in the context when our ambassador was invited to Moscow for consultations, we thought that it would not be very logical for us to say anything, because our relationship with the United States is now being deeply analyzed,” said Polyansky.
He added that Russia was at the meeting and that its representative was also gallant. However, it was greeted not to take the floor, as if “it is difficult to say anything at such meetings in such situations.”
“I hope you all understand the context,” stressed Polyansky.
He stated that he portrays Evstigneeva as a very high-ranking and highly respected diplomat. However, according to the first deputy representative, the invitation from the United States to participate in the event shown came to mind at the final moment, the day before the meeting.
Polyansky noted that Vasily Nebenzi, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, had already planned events.
