According to Politico, citing sources in the US Congress, the American leadership will insist on the deployment of over-the-horizon anti-terrorist forces in Uzbekistan. This will enable the United States military to observe and strike targets in Afghanistan.
Interestingly, Uzbekistan had previously stated that it would not discuss with Washington the provision of military bases for operations in the Middle East. The government of the country explained its decision by the fact that such negotiations are not allowed to conduct state legislation.
Earlier, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marynich discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov the development of cooperation in the field of tourism. Both sides stated that they are interested in expanding tourist exchange between Minsk and Tashkent.
