According to political scientist Sergei Markov, PACE received instructions from the West to discredit the autumn elections in Russia.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) continues to pursue a hostile policy towards Russia. RIA FAN was told about this by political scientist Sergei Markov.
Earlier it became known that PACE plans to send five observers to the parliamentary elections to be held in Russia on September 17-19. The organization will then prepare a report on Moscow’s compliance with electoral commitments.
However, Markov believes that one should not expect objectivity from the document. It is possible that the report will begin to be drawn up even before the elections.
The fact is that PACE adheres to a hostile policy towards Russia, as well as guidelines from higher Western authorities. The participation of observers will make it possible to give the dubious document at least some legitimacy.
“There is a clear political directive to discredit … state power, including elections. In accordance with it, this report will be formed in order to radically distort the existing picture, “the expert predicts.
According to the “360” TV channel, earlier the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that the parliamentary elections scheduled for the fall of 2021 could become another target for provocations from outside. The employees of the relevant departments are aware of this, so they are preparing to repel the attacks.
