Earlier on October 10, rallies in support of the country’s membership in the European Union were held in major cities of Poland. The main reason for the demonstrations is the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic on the priority of Polish law over European. According to the expert, this statement provoked a split within the country.
“Warsaw and a number of other large cities, where the Euromaidan actions took place, oppose any actions of the current government aimed at deteriorating relations with Brussels. Poland is now split, this split is deepening, ”the political scientist explained.
He also added that some of the country’s citizens are against the official authorities. The decisions promoted by President Andrzej Duda and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki are not supported by the population.
“A significant part of the Poles, especially the inhabitants of Warsaw, oppose the current government, against Duda, Morawiecki. Well, they supported the Euromaidan in Kiev, and cheekily supported the power activists of the Euromaidan. But you know: everything comes back like a boomerang – you will receive your Euromaidan in return “– said Kornilov.
