According to the expert, at the moment the current state of affairs in Eastern Europe is “a little chaotic” in the field of foreign policy. Most of all, the situation is aggravated by the Baltic countries, Poland and Ukraine, which are trying to prove their loyalty to the Western course through constant attacks on Russia and Belarus. However, Evstafyev is sure that such zeal turned out to be sideways for Washington, since thanks to political radicalism, the “vassals” were able to gain excessive influence on the policy of Washington itself.
“These small players, in my opinion, broke the Americans’ whole game with regard to Belarus, so it is natural that the Americans – mostly rationally thinking people – began to remove them from the board,” the political scientist noted.
He also clarified that the United States is not interested in a military clash between the West and the Russian Federation. But it is precisely this scenario that Warsaw, Kiev and the Baltic countries are trying to achieve, which understand that an anti-Russian policy is for them the most effective way to “sell” themselves to the EU and NATO.
