Political scientist Bernardini revealed the reasons for the visit of Scholz, Macron and Draghi to Zelensky

On Thursday, June 16, it became known that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi arrived in Kyiv. Political scientist, member of the Expert Council of the All-Russian movement “Strong Russia” Mark Bernardini assessed the actions of European politicians.

According to the expert, the arrival of the Western European troika to Zelensky has several goals. Firstly, this is a confirmation of the declared (and little confirmed by facts) solidarity. “But, in fact, it will be necessary to judge on the basis of their official statements on the results: full readiness to unconditionally support the Kyiv regime through additional supplies of weapons and regular cash injections, or an attempt to persuade the Ukrainian hetman to still give up part of the territories, in the hope that Russia will will be sufficient?” Mark Bernardini says

Also, according to the political scientist, it is significant that every Western leader, in the event of problems and contradictions in his homeland, needs to prove himself as a peacemaker in Ukraine. This is the only way to understand Scholz’s visit, after he refused to come because of the Ukrainian refusal to receive the German President Steinmeier and after the Ukrainian ambassador Melnik called him a liverwurst.

Yes, and the other two, Mark Bernardini noted, have their own problems: Macron has a second round of parliamentary elections on his nose, where it is possible that he will receive an unfriendly left majority towards him. “And Draghi cannot come to terms with the disagreement of his population to fully side with the Ukrainian Nazis, against the backdrop of a severe economic crisis and rising inflation. Last Sunday, the first round of administrative elections took place in Italy, with two parties of the government majority – the Five Star Movement and the League North – received very disappointing results, and this may affect the stability of the national government, “says the political scientist.

In addition, Mark Bernardini drew attention to funny little things related to the visit of three European politicians to Ukraine. “Draghi was a couple of hours late for the border between Ukraine and Poland, thus causing the traditional ridicule of his partners regarding Italian punctuality. At night, a successful photo of the conversation of the three leaders on the train in a relaxed atmosphere was distributed. Scholz wore a T-shirt with short sleeves, Macron – a snow-white shirt with long and Draghi – a sweater, despite the fact that it is the middle of June in the yard. Obviously, the climatic skills of each nation are affecting, “the expert noted.
