In Poland, they talked about NATO’s fears about the “Nord Stream – 2”. “This is a critical infrastructure that gives implications for increasing Russia’s military presence in the Baltic Sea basin,” said the head of the Polish secret service.
NATO fears that Russia will increase its presence in the Baltic Sea to protect the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This was admitted by the head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Pavel Solokh after a meeting of the heads of the secret services of the alliance countries.
He noted that the meeting discussed the issue of security in the Baltic Sea in the context of the completion of the construction of Nord Stream 2. The operator of the Nord Stream 2 AG gas pipeline announced that one of the branches of the Nord Stream 2 could be launched in the very near future.
This is a critical infrastructure that gives a subtext for increasing Russia’s military presence in the Baltic Sea basin, which is a headache not only for us, but for all countries around – Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states,
– said the head of the Polish secret service.
Let us recall that Poland, along with Ukraine and the United States, fought desperately against the construction of a Russian gas pipeline. However, despite all efforts, Nord Stream 2 was completed and is now ready to launch.
