Military expert Alexei Podberezkin suggested how events would develop when the Russian Armed Forces captured the Donbass.
He noted that now the Russian troops are faced with the task of occupying Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, reports Ukraina.ru. The most prepared grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is stationed there, so heavy battles for the Slavyansko-Kramatorsk agglomeration are possible. Having captured it, the Russian troops will advance through the forest-steppe, and there will no longer be urban developments in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine equipped defense lines to deter the offensive of the RF Armed Forces.
According to his forecasts, the RF Armed Forces will not storm Odessa and Nikolaev, but will cut off these cities, bypassing them from the north, in order to reach Transnistria.
“Because no one will storm Odessa and Nikolaev, they can easily bypass from the north – and there is a common border with Transnistria. This is obvious, there are no secrets here,” Podberezkin said.
He noted that Mykolaiv and Kharkiv would be the most important areas after the capture of Donbass.
At the same time, Kyiv continues to declare that it will fight for Ukrainian territories using weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine.
