Two-time Olympic champion in figure skating, coach Evgeni Plushenko, commented on the skaters’ scores they received in the short program at the Russian Championship, which takes place in Chelyabinsk.
In particular, speaking about the performance of Alexandra Trusova, Plushenko noted that she skated very well. Despite the fact that in some moments it was underestimated, and “one could also set the highest level.”
With regard to other athletes, as the Olympic champion said, there were “slightly overestimated estimates.” A similar opinion, as Plushenko said, is shared by other coaches who, like him, believe that “skaters who occupy the leading places are given fabulous points for falls, for not done spins.”
“They are given a completely different level, which, in theory, should not be,” – quotes the “Sport-Express” indignant coach.
According to Plushenko, “something is wrong” at the championship.
