Planes with Russian CSTO peacekeepers flew out of Kazakhstan

Il-76 and An-124 aircraft with Russian peacekeepers from the forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization took off from Alma-Ata, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

In addition, the peacekeepers loaded military equipment onto aircraft.

Protests against the backdrop of rising gas prices in the republic began on January 2. Later they escalated into riots. After that, the President of Kazakhstan turned to the CSTO for help.

On January 6, peacekeepers from the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan began to arrive in the republic. On January 13, their withdrawal began. It will run until January 19th.

Earlier, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said that the entry of peacekeepers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization into Kazakhstan was timely.
