In Ukraine on Sunday, vaccination against coronavirus with a drug from the American company Pfizer began, said the country’s chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko on the air of the Ukraine-24 TV channel.
According to him, the first to receive this vaccine were patients and staff of a neuropsychiatric boarding school in the town of Borodyanka, Kiev region. In total, about 100 people will be vaccinated per day. In three days, it is planned to vaccinate all employees and patients (428 people) with the first dose of the drug. The second dose will also be reserved for them.
According to Lyashko, the vaccine has arrived at all regional warehouses. Pfizer can be vaccinated in every area today.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that an agreement had been reached on the supply of 10 million doses of Pfizer vaccine to the country.
On April 16, an airplane with a batch of vaccine in 117 thousand doses of the drug arrived in Ukraine within the framework of the COVAX mechanism.
