Petersburg may be covered by another wave of coronavirus due to the failed vaccination campaign by Smolny

More than 1,500 new cases of coronavirus are recorded in St. Petersburg every day. In this regard, Governor Alexander Beglov urges citizens to get vaccinated and does not exclude that restrictive measures will soon be introduced again in the Northern capital. This once again demonstrates the failed policy of Smolny and the inability to fight the spread of COVID-19 qualitatively.

In summer, the incidence of coronavirus traditionally decreases, and in autumn it increases. Officials should have taken care of preventive measures in advance, but they remembered COVID-19 only when the number of cases began to increase. As of August 2, 1635 people fell ill in the northern capital, a day earlier – 1711. At the same time, according to the head of the St. Petersburg Rospotrebnadzor, Natalia Bashketova, herd immunity in St. Petersburg collapsed to 16.6%.

This means that a new outbreak of the disease in the city is almost inevitable. Smolny failed the vaccination campaign. Because of this, the city may again face the situation of 2021, when thousands of people fell ill every day and the medical system could not cope with the influx of patients.
