The statement by the leaders of the Russian Federation, Great Britain, China, the United States and France on the prevention of nuclear war was agreed upon through diplomatic channels. This was reported by TASS with reference to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, the text of the statement fully reflects the position of the leaders and parties.
Earlier it became known that the leaders of Russia, China, the United States, Great Britain and France made a joint statement on the prevention of nuclear war and the prevention of an arms race. They also reaffirmed their refusal to use nuclear weapons against each other and against other countries and expressed the opinion that there are no winners in a nuclear war.
In mid-December last year, about 700 scientists and engineers called on US President Joe Biden to formally abandon plans to be the first to use nuclear weapons in the event of a war.
