The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the parade in honor of the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will definitely take place on May 9, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the parade will be unambiguous. He also added that the “Immortal Regiment” is also “preparing.”
The Kremlin spokesman noted that so far the epidemiological situation inspires cautious optimism.
Peskov also said that the decision on inviting foreign guests to the parade has not yet been made. He explained that if Russia feels more confident in the situation with the coronavirus, then in many European countries the state of affairs is alarming.
Recall that last year, due to the pandemic, the country’s authorities decided to postpone the Victory Parade from May 9 to June 24.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that this year more than 12.5 thousand people, over 190 units of military equipment, as well as 76 aircraft will take part in the military parade.
