Peskov said that talks between Putin and Lukashenko will take place on February 22

Press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will hold “lengthy negotiations” on February 22, TASS reports.

According to a Kremlin spokesman, the leaders of the two countries will discuss bilateral relations and the international agenda.

“Lukashenka certainly has something to inform the Russian president about, since the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly has just ended,” Peskov added.

Lukashenko on February 18 announced plans to meet with Putin in Moscow, stating that he was not going to “ask for anything.” He added that there is also an agreement on a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, during which it is planned to discuss security and defense issues.
