The press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov believes that during the presidency of Vladimir Zelensky, it was not possible to make progress either in the implementation of the Minsk package of measures, or in the subsequent agreements reached in Paris. This opinion was expressed by the representative of the Kremlin in an interview with AiF.
According to him, now there is an escalation of tension on the contact line in Donbass.
“In fact, the modest achievements that were made earlier are being crossed out. Tension is growing, and no one sees a reason to gather at the highest level, ”said Peskov.
He recalled that over the past six months, Kiev has repeatedly declared the impracticability of the Minsk agreements and the need for other documents, which causes Moscow’s concerns.
“These agreements are also signed by the leaders of the self-proclaimed republics. Now Ukrainians are absolutely rejecting the idea of any kind of dialogue with them. Accordingly, the achievement of new agreements is a priori impossible, because how can a conflict be settled if one side does not want to communicate with the other? ”Peskov clarified.
He added that now the Russian side, together with foreign colleagues, is trying to find a way out of this vicious circle, but “it is very difficult to talk to Kiev.”
We will remind, earlier Peskov spoke about the upcoming talks between the leaders of the Russian Federation, France and Germany.
