Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced incomplete observance of the ceasefire regime on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
He noted that the ceasefire regime, including in Nagorno-Karabakh, is not fully observed. This, according to Pashinyan, was also stated by the peacekeepers. The politician expressed hope that an investigation of these cases will be organized and the necessary measures will be taken.
He also stressed that after the signing of the trilateral armistice agreement on November 9, 2020, 28 people were killed by the Armenian side. According to the prime minister, we are talking about the victims of the incident at the Khtsaberd-Khin Taher section. In addition, people died along the perimeter on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the prime minister said.
“Also, I must say that there were cases of hostilities in the Khtsaberd-Khin Taher, Sotk-Khoznavar sector, which is a gross violation of the trilateral statement,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that 90% of the people from the Armenian side were captured after the November 9 agreement. According to the prime minister, Azerbaijan does not return prisoners and detainees in spite of paragraph 8 of the statement.
At the same time, Pashinyan stressed that he highly appreciates the contribution of Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the cause of ending the war.
“I must also state that one of the very important points of the statement has been fully implemented. Russian peacekeepers are deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the perimeter of the Lachin corridor, whose activities we highly appreciate, ”the prime minister said.
He added that Russian peacekeepers play a key role in ensuring security in Karabakh.
On November 9, 2020, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed a trilateral agreement. After that, Russian peacekeepers were brought into the territory of the contact line and the Lachin corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Earlier, President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has not yet received a response from Armenia regarding the proposal to work together on a peace agreement.
