Parliament elected Sergei Melikov head of Dagestan

The People’s Assembly of Dagestan elected Sergei Melikov as the head of the republic. This is reported by TASS.

Sergey Melikov has been managing the region as an interim since October 2020. 82 out of 90 deputies voted for him. Samir Abdulkhalikov, a member of the Election Commission of Dagestan with a decisive vote, and Kamil Davdiev, deputy chairman of the republic’s People’s Assembly, also claimed the post of head.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Natalia Poklonskaya as Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Cape Verde.
