Andrey Chuprygin, senior lecturer at the School of Oriental Studies at the Higher School of Economics, considered the news that Iran was allegedly preparing an attack on Saudi Arabia to be political stuffing.
The day before, the Wall Street Journal wrote in an article that Saudi Arabia had passed intelligence to the United States that Iran was planning an attack on it, as well as on Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. It was claimed that it could be launched within the next 48 hours. The attack is necessary for Tehran, according to the authors of the article, to divert attention from the protests that have swept through Iran and will not subside.
“Historically, Iran has never directly attacked Saudi Arabia. Historically, Iran has never directly attacked Iraqi territory, with the exception of the famous Iran-Iraq war, when in fact Iraq attacked Iran. I think that this is an unsubstantiated stuffing, such a political fake,” commented the orientalist to RIA Novosti.Krym.
The expert believes that this stuffing appeared in order to put pressure on US President Joseph Biden on the issue of renegotiating the US “nuclear deal” with Iran.
Interested in this may be more than it seems. This is both Israel and Saudi Arabia itself, Chuprygin believes.
