Opposition of Armenia against meeting Pashinyan with Aliyev

According to the opposition, Pashinyan no longer has the right to represent Armenia

Prime Minister’s visit has been discussed in Armenia for several days Nikola Pashinyan to Moscow, where he is to meet with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev… On Sunday, January 10, this was confirmed by the press service of the head of government.

“Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will leave for the Russian Federation on January 11 on a working visit. A trilateral meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is planned in Moscow. During the visit, the Prime Minister will also hold a one-on-one meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, “

– said in the message of the press service of the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan’s press secretary Mane Gevorkyan explained that the negotiations will only be of an economic nature, while the discussion of territorial issues is not planned.

“The meeting will focus on the opening of regional communications, international cargo transportation, including from Armenia to Russia and Iran, as well as from the central regions of Armenia to the Syunik region. Although the topic of the so-called. “Meghri Corridor”, however, in the joint statement of November 9, there is no point on the creation of any corridor through the territory of Armenia. For Yerevan, the most important issue remains a full-fledged exchange of prisoners, as well as expanding the scale of search and rescue operations in the combat zone. Without resolving this issue, the discussion of any economic agenda will be difficult “,

– assures the press secretary of the head of the Armenian government.

According to her, if the parties can come to an agreement on all these issues, then a joint statement may be adopted following the meeting.

The opposition is determined to prevent Pashinyan from going to Moscow, for which on Monday, January 11, it is planned to hold a protest at the Yerevan airport and not allow the prime minister to board the plane.

Sunday, January 10, representative of the Rodina party Arsen Babayan addressed the Armenians with an appeal to gather early in the morning at the capital’s airport “Zvartnots”.

“Join us and together we will prevent the death of our homeland. Any decision against the interests of Armenia and Artsakh will be recognized as illegitimate and denounced after the change of government, ”

– shouted Babayan.

According to opposition politicians, Pashinyan does not have the right to take part in trilateral negotiations, since he has no right to represent Armenia – the people of the country no longer consider him a legitimate representative of power. This statement was made by a single opposition candidate for the post of prime minister Vazgen Manukyan

“We warn all parties to the alleged agreement that Nikol Pashinyan does not represent Armenia and Artsakh, he does not have an appropriate mandate. Any decision taken against the interests of Armenia and Artsakh will not be ratified and will be canceled after the change of government. The only way to stop the catastrophic process is to remove the traitors from power, and we will continue to fight with full force in this direction, ”

– says Manukyan’s statement.
