In his column in The National Interest, former US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Aaron Mitchell warned of the great risk of a war between the United States on two fronts – with Russia and China at the same time. The politician is sure: in this case, the United States will not withstand and there is a high probability that it will be destroyed.
Aaron Mitchell, ex-Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, proposed his strategy for preventing a war of the United States on two fronts – against Russia and China in his column in The National Interest. In his opinion, a nationwide effort is needed, which has not been done in America over the past several generations.
According to the American politician, if you do not take into account a direct nuclear strike, then “the greatest risk facing the United States in the twenty-first century is a war on two fronts with the participation of their strongest military rivals – China and Russia.”
The expert is sure that such a conflict will be so widespread that it will affect several generations, since America will actually face the resources of almost half of the Eurasian land mass.
As a result, this is possible and would increase the capabilities of the US armed forces, however, it would not have been possible to avoid large casualties among the American people. Moreover, it does not rule out politics and the destruction of the United States.
It would increase and likely exceed the current capabilities of the US military, requiring great sacrifices from the American people with far-reaching implications for American influence, alliances, and prosperity, ”Mitchell writes. – If it escalates into a nuclear confrontation, it may even endanger the very existence of the country.
